Chelan Valley Habitat Store is open
We close for donations at 4PM
Tune in to KOZI Wednesday mornings at 8:45 for the "phrase that pays".
We share the vision of Habitat for Humanity International:
"A world in which everyone has a decent place to live."
Chelan Habitat was affiliated with Habitat International in 1993 and have since then built 17 houses, making it possible for 17 families to have a decent place to live.
We also share Habitat Internationals mission:
"Seeking to put God's love into action
Habitat for Humanity brings people together
To build houses, communities and hope."
Important to know: Chelan Valley Habitat for Humanity does not discriminate against anybody.
There are, however, certain criteria for becoming a home owner; such as income level, need for housing, partnership with Habitat etc, so please go to Family Selection for more information.
Where does the money for house building come from?
Funding for house construction comes from generous donations, but mostly from the Habitat Store where we receive, process and sell donated household goods Monday through Saturday 10-5.
Our ability to build affordable housing relies primarely on the net-proceeds from the Store where you can always find tresures such as, collectibles, kitchenware, used furniture, used clothes and much much more. The more sellable goods we receive from generous folks like you and the more goods we sell to generous folks like you...the more houses can be build in the Lake Chelan Valley. Thank you!
